The past few weeks have been mainly focused on stabilizing the application and improving the user experience. We also got the self-hosted beta ready. Here’s what’s new. Modals. Feather now displays details about tasks, discussions, and other project items in an overlay rather than navigating away from the page you were viewing. This is similar to Quick View in ActiveCollab 4 and makes everyday use much faster.
Better Editor We replaced the visual editor engine by a more stable and reliable implementation. Although it is not obvious from the outside, the change addresses many issues with text input and greatly improves the user experience.
Heartbeat. This is an invisible, but huge improvement. Heartbeat monitors ActiveCollab installations and manages them. It ensures that email is sent and received (coming soon), manages reminders and Morning Paper delivery, and monitors performance. It is the core component of our self-hosting strategy. We recently rolled it out so that we could begin beta testing self-hosted installations.
These larger changes aside, the team also shipped many cosmetic changes and stability improvements. We appreciate all feedback!
